ASMP Referendums and Elections for the National Board of Directors

Jake Wyman

February 2008

By now you should have received a package of important documents from the ASMP National office that ask for your help in determining the future direction of ASMP. The documents include two separate referendum questions and a ballot to appoint new members to the national board of directors.

The board of directors for the Connecticut ASMP is asking that you vote yes for each referendum – the constitutional changes and the dues increase – and for each of the five board candidates recommended by the national governance committee.

While I cannot tell you how to cast your vote, I would like you to understand how important these referendum initiatives are, toward improving our organization. For more information about each referendum, go to the member area of the ASMP website.

The governance committee is also charged with identifying qualified candidates who support the ASMP’s current priorities and invites them to run for election. If you are happy with the direction ASMP is headed, support the candidates recommended by the governance committee. If you are not happy with the direction, then examine the other candidate statements to see if you like their approach better. In either respect, cast your vote for up to five candidates that you think will best serve our organization.

Please remember that all Ballots must be received at National no later then March 15th, 2008.
